Recently featured by EdNC (https://www.ednc.org/uncertainty-of-pandemic-presents-opportunity-empower-teachers-re-imagine-learning-henderson-county/), Henderson County Public Schools offered a Summer Learning program that empowered teachers to wildly imagine there are no barriers and there are no rules. Deficit knowledge was avoided and replaced with phrases like acceleration and unfinished learning. Over 30 Community Partners supported schools in order to create a camp-like experience. Superintendent John Bryant directed schools to “Draft recklessly, act sensibly.”
